SIP Quick Rules

RULES #1-10

Have fun, encourage others to have fun, and generally don’t be a prick. It’s pinball, not the storming of Normandy.

WHEN
  • Meets are alternating Thursdays @ OLPH – check the calendar for specifics.
  • Each season has 7 meets.
  • Your lowest score of the season will be dropped; attendance at every meet is strongly encouraged (and will help standings), but this means you can miss one without penalty.
  • Start time is 7PM sharp unless otherwise announced. If you’re late, you’re zero on each game until you get there.
WHERE
  • Standard Meets are at Our Lady of Perpetual Hops.
  • One “Away Game” may be played at another location each season, typically off the normal schedule. Senior League Officials (SLOs) will announce this well in advance.
HOW
  • Show up, register on this site, and pay your $30 league dues (this goes to prizes and IFPA fees)
    • You (or a guest) can play one meet prior to paying dues to test the waters. You may join at any time, but will receive a 0 score for any prior season meets.
  • At each meet, you’ll be put in a group of 3-4 and play four games with those same people for the night.
  • Scoring on each game will be 7/5/3/1 (7/4/1 for three player games); these points will go toward Meet and Season rank.
  • Any rulings will be made by SLOs based on the full SIP rules and their best judgement. Rulings are final. No one likes a whiner.
  • The next week, new group parings will be made based on current league standings and skill levels.
  • At the end of the season, players will be split into A and B groups for finals. You must attend at least 5 meets to be eligible for finals.
WHO
  • Anyone who like pinball, fun, beer, or a combination thereof.
  • Senior League Officials: Quentin Cordy, Dylan Schutz, Tracey Lowe, David Rowland (founder), Courtney Smock (founder), and Alex Scarborough
WHY
  • Playing pinball and socializing is fun. Like, real fun.
BONUS WHEN LIT
  • At most meets, there will be a side challenge/goal/game announced with a prize. This will generally not be skill based, so not everything is about those damn pinball wizards.
  • Each season an award will be given for the Most Improved Player, Most Sportsmanlike, etc.
