The Southern Indiana Pinball League (SIP) is a great way to meet new people and play pinball in a low-pressure, fun-focused environment. Also, there’s beer.

Schedule and Format

SIP meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday, 0630 @ Our Lady of Perpetual Hops. Seasons run three months, with a party for finals scheduled in the fourth month.

Each league night, you’ll be put in a group of 3-4 based on rankings. You’ll hangout and play 4 games that night with those folks. The results will move your rankings, and decide who plays together at the next meet.

FAQs

SIP Rule #1: Be nice and have fun.

SIP Rule #2: SEE RULE NUMBER ONE. Seriously, SIP is a welcoming FUN environment. If you get frustrated at the game once in a while, no big deal, but any behavior that makes SIP less fun for your league mates will not be tolerated. It’s pinball, not life and death

What if I miss a meet?

Your lowest meet score is dropped from final rankings, so you can miss one without a significant penalty. You’ll also have the opportunity to play a “makeup” game on each machine at the first two meetings – these scores can be used during ONE meeting you are unable to attend.

Is it fun?

YES.

I’m new to pinball, or I’ve never done anything competitive, or I’m just kinda anxious about “competing”

AWESOME. See Rule #1, and come have some fun! You’ll get better playing with others, but who cares – just come have a good time.

Is this an IFPA League?

Yup, you’ll get IFPA points. Just remember Rule #1. Winning the league won’t make you Keith Elwin, and last place still has a damn good time every other Thursday.

Can I join late/mid-season?

Yup, you’ll just take zeros for missed meets. It’s social, who cares. And you could still do well in finals, regardless of your place overall.
